The Job You Like And The Job That Pays

Do you do what you are doing because you love doing it? Or do you do what you are doing because you are paid for doing it?

Aah! The Irony Of Fate

Trrriiiiiinnngggg!!!!
The moment after your alarm goes off, you still lie in your bed with your eyes closed, fighting inside your head the big war - Whether to get up and go to office or take a Sick Leave.
Your brain is all for going to the office, but your sweet little heart does not like the bossy brain. "Why cant we just stay at home and do something else? Why cant we do something that we really enjoy doing? Why do we have to be part of that office politics? Why cant we simply skip the office today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and every other day after that?"
The calm brain answers "Because, it will get you a big fat cheque at the end of the month."
At this thought the heart gives in, today, tomorrow and all the days following tomorrow. The heart loves to sing and dance and party, loves to write, spend time in the orphanage nearby, but alas! none of these will pay the big fat cheque.

The Search in the Dark

The heart is strong in its own emotional ways, and so does not give up. Everyday it promises to find a job that it likes and that will also pay. It does not let the hope die, day after day, month after month, year after year. The heart does not even notice that the hair has started greying and keeps on hoping and searching for that perfect other job.

Meanwhile the brain witnesses every feeling going inside the heart. It knows a little secret that the heart overlooked - that all this search is useless until it decides the skill it actually likes. But the brain keeps mum, not a word.

Pollyal, thanks for the follow. to answer the title. I like working in a website which is interesting, challenging, especially when it gives a little return in terms of money. I like the way you write- your style.

Interestingly analysed, Pollyal. I feel most are unhappy at work while some who are on their own love what they do. Workplace politics is tough to endure and is really a dampener in terms of enthusiasm to go to work - siva
