How people wrongly focus on I.Q. when they should more properly examine S.Q = Stupidity Quotient

The Facts

You can brag about your I.Q. but that ain't even going to get you a seat on the bus. Besides, considering you are living on this planet, it isn't your intelligence which gets you where you want to go, it is your stupidity.

Let's put it like this; if you gave I.Q. tests to a population you'd probably find the highest scores belong to those in prison A number of mega-rich are on par with Forrest Gump, and the majority aspire to his level.

As Weird Al said; Dare to Be Stupid.

If You Know You're Stupid....

There are those who know they're stupid.
They know they don't know.
Hence they ask.

They ask and those they ask get an ego boost. Those they ask are more than happy to show off. Those they ask get that warm and runny feeling inside and will, if they have a chance, help the Stupe.

Stupid people who know they are stupid have very high S.Q.s and go very far in life.

If You Don't know....

Then there are those who don't know they are stupid. They've got a couple of degrees and think they know everything so don't ask. Not only don't ask, don't even know there is something to ask about.

Since they know everything those who could help them sit quietly and watch them make perfect idiots of themselves.

Bruce on the Loose

Take our Prime Minister, (please). He has a very low S.Q. He's a stupid guy who doesn't know he's stupid. If he knew he was stupid he wouldn't try to fool everyone. Alas, because he thinks he's so bright he proceeds like the Emperor with his new clothes.

Take this mega millionaire. He knows he's stupid. He knows that he'd have a hard time getting into a local High School. So he hires the smartest people he can find to advise him. That's why he's a mega millionaire.

Ask for Help

Taking Weird Al's advice, what you have to do is start with the basic;
"I don't know anything."

Realising you don't know you try to learn. You learn as much as you can, assuming there's a bit more you don't know.

You have to file a document. Since you know you're stupid you ask for help. The clerk, who is used to everyone treating him like a lackey is impressed that you asked him. He will now help you. His help will probably put you at the top of the queue so that where everyone else waits two hours, you are leaving in twenty minutes. Thank him profusely.

Since you're stupid you don't know that these people are insulting you. You don't lose your cool, you don't take them on, you're stupid. They, maybe feeling sorry for you, (or guilty) act a lot nicer than is their nature.

Of course, if you let on that you know what they really think, it gets worse.

Reflect

Many people, when looking back over their lives, find one of the key 'turning points' not based on brilliant deduction nor raw intelligence, but on stupidity. Being stupid, they don't know this is impossible so do it.

Most don't realise that because they were so stupid that they got off at the wrong stop, or went to the wrong office, or screwed up the document or didn't know a procedure; got over faster and better than they would have were they intelligent.

Think about it.

Bruce Golding; if you've listened to the Manatt Inquiry...(if you're not in JA you can pick it up on any of the local stations from about 9:30 - 4 M - F.

Under oath he admitted he wanted to keep the hiring of the law firm secret...from members of his cabinet as well as party and did not know that US firms had to report being hired by a foreign gov. Get the transcript...it was Friday gone...makes incredible reading...

He'll be back on the stand on Weds.

I agree, if we look back over our lives, we can find a point of no return.

We can often find that it's the 'dumb move' which gets the best results.

If you know you don't know, if you think you're stupid, you probably aren't.
