Ode to Steve Kinsman, Moderator.

Moderation need not be a final condemnation,
Or an "Agree to Publish" is, of course, always welcome.
A few rounds of verbal banter and/or discussion
Might give an opportunity for some more revision.

Moderator Steve Kinsman

Steve Kinsman is a moderator and moderates with ease,
Although, I must say, I find him rather hard to please.
Cross the line and Steve will jump right through the screen
Here he is, in front of me, glaring from the keys.

His sun-tanned skin and gleaming smile and "this is the way it is",
Bring me to my feet, yelling to state my version of his fact.
Sure, I want to out-smart him with a "coup d'etat"
In fact, when others join in, I might perform the dastardly act.

Moderator Steve Kinsman 2.

I try to sneak around him, there is no "blind-side" for Steve,
His head moves all the way round but I will not leave.
I'll take a chance and appear to compromise with him,
Then attack again with new facts, but there's no half-way for Steve.

Steve, "mother of all moderators", will not be beguiled.
He waits "in the wings" and if I agree to see his point of view,
He picks up the play with a final "grand slam" as in tennis,
I'm at the net, a back-hander might crush this re-occurring menace.

Moderator Steve Kinsman 3.

However, points have been scored and my nut man moves along.
He will fall off the edge and Steve will catch the little man for me.
No, he will not take him down and fling him on the ground
He will re-place him gently on his track for a second round.

Despite a few misguided shots which crossed the players' line,
I respect Steve's opinion and, I think, he probably accepts mine.
We will never play at Wimbledon, our invitations did not arrive,
But despite some star-crossed games, at least I did survive!

Thank you, Buzz. As always, I am comforted that you hang in with me.
"You caution and encourage me"
You are my Peter Pan,
You fly in from the wings off stage
And lend a helping hand.
Love and Hugs, x
Delighted that you are back!.

Stevetheblogger:
Steve K sure is constructive. He needs to be! He can sometimes do a little "tearing down". However, I am very resilient. Thanks for your comment.

Well, thank you A K Rao. I have "emerged from a battle of words" somewhat bruised" but definitely with my determination not to be overwhelmed when feeling outnumbered.

There's money in them thar poems. Ivyevelyn. You should really put your work together in eBook form and publish on Kindle. Here's exactly how to do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flUDeOUvlJ4&feature=player_embedded

(My neighbor only wants lay opinions on his draft book before he goes any further). He obviously prefers to forgo a more educated opinion until he gets more feedback..

Being a moderator is very tough, I cannot tell you how many times I have been yelled at for not giving somebody a star, its not like we have an option to give a star or not, its based on how many wikinut features a person uses, but many people get mad at us.

And if we point out what we think is an error or improvement some people over react and take the words harshly when not intended to be so.

Steve is a great guy and a great moderator. Tough love is the best kind if we wish to shine our brightest, in my opinion.
