Further Observations of the Felines’ Slave

There are lots of people who like animals and have their lives dictated by a pet. Cats are particularly good at assuming the role of Boss . . . .

Coping with twins I think must be an art
Though ours are cats that we can tell apart
Both are white with a tabby head,
And a tabby tail it should be said
But it’s the body-art spots that are smart!

Gizmo has two tabby spots (such street cred!)
That match the colouring of his head
Spike is more spotted
Quite randomly dotted
And is now fast asleep on my bed!

Bewitched and bewitching

Their birthday is March 17
So probably this must mean
They are leprechaun blessed
And put us all to the test
With their antics - you’ll see what I mean!

They work in a synchronised way
As they scamper their way through each day,
Food . . . a run in the garden – then food –
Or biscuits, depending on mood
Then snoozing wherever they lay.

Twins things

Gizmo pulls Alpha-Male rank
But it’s Spike who pulls off each prank
Of stalking around
And then with one bound
Giving his brother a spank!

They clean each other with care
Attending to ears, eyes and hair
And the bits they can’t reach
They don’t even need speech
Their instincts will tell them just where.

Plotting for fun

Their days are quite structured and fun
They like to play out in the sun
But one spot of rain
And they’re inside again
. . . . and now, where has my food bowl gone?

There are times that they converse in cat
So that humans don’t know what is what
And they lurk in the hall
And plot our downfall
To flop under our feet on the mat.

Life goes on . . . .

But six years we now have survived
Since those two tiny bundles arrived
They continue to grow
And, well, you really should know,
Gizmo needs to go on a diet!

Thank you Delicia. My humour poems I tend to write in limerick form, for a light hearted lilt to it.

Lovely pussy cats. Twins can be twice as nice and twice as naughty.

Thank you eileen. I agree with you - twice as naughty. Today they collected two young mice from the field at the back and brought them into the garden to play. Didn't kill them just let them run around the lawn and then chased them through the hedge into next door's garden.
