Innocent girl tries to buy candy and is in for the surprise of her life.

Cecil the Gas Station Guy and the Candy Bar Misfortune

It was a normal Thursday evening when I decided to make a visit to the neighborhood gas station (which, I might add, has A LOT of candy). I happened to be there for just this very thing.

After walking through the sliding double doors, with $10 burning a whole in my pocket, I headed straight for the candy aisle. Having been to this gas station many times since its grand opening a week ago, I already had the layout memorized. I grabbed handful after handful of my favorite candy bars, and just when I thought I could hold no more, I headed for the checkout.

And who should be working at the checkout but the 'not so creepy but kind of a little creepy but, when asked, you say he is not creepy' guy. This guy was named Cecil. As he rings up my purchases, he decides to be the weird sort of creepy person that he is and read all the nutrition information and ingredients of EVERY candy bar I was getting. Now, I normally wouldn't mind this too much, but seeing as I was buying the world record of candy bars, I was getting tired. And it doesn't help that Cecil's voice, in a good word, sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard.

After about fifteen minutes of waiting, I decided I could take the torture no longer. Painfully, my heart laden with grief, I turned and sprinted out of the gas station, not even bothering to grab my unpurchased candy on the way out.

Ever since that fateful Thursday night, I still cannot look at the ingredients of a Twix bar without remembering my poor comrades I was unable to save from Cecil the Gas Station Guy. But it was a sacrifice I was forced to make.
