A poem about staying up, getting up and what life's about

An ode to life

It's late and I'm up
I fancy a cup
Of something much stronger than tea

The world is asleep
Yet somehow I keep
On the internet endlessly

Engulfed by its pages
It takes flippin ages
To achieve the smallest of tasks

I should just be reading
My little brain feeding
Before donning my little sleep mask

The telly is calling
On the couch I like sprawling
Amused by american shows

The english ones bore
I don't care what's in store
For the X Factor cast or their woes

I have laundry to hang and my bed to make
My dirty plate to the kitchen to take
And then tomorrow I will awake
To another gift of a day

Life is for living
Not getting, but giving
Meeting new people and friends

For good times with family
Not sitting there lonely
For they'll be with you til the end
