A silly yarn about a gardener with a well known saying ast the end.

The Eccentric Gardener.

An eccentric gardener had an idea one day of growing moss on bolders of rock in the middle of his garden. He wanted a mixture of brown, green and yellow moss as a show piece.

As his garden was on a hill he decided to go to the top of the hill and roll some bolders down to his garden. He then piled the bolders up into a mound to create the eye catching piece. He then sprayed the rock with a secret solution to enhance the growth of the moss . Then he waited and waited until over a year had gone by. Nothing had grown.

Being upset by this he went to a famous specialist gardener for advice. He explained all that he had done, and after listening closely the
specialist said : " you have no chance of growing moss like that ".
The gardener replied : " Why, what have I done wrong?".
The specialist replied " A rolling stone gathers no moss "
