Let's give credit where credit is due
Well maybe it isn't being given to you
But I will accept with Grace
My rightful position of first place.

Poetic Artristy

We have here a lady who will not succumb
To the odds no doubt not in her favor
Nevertheless she will not be deterred
Her voice will continue to be heard.

The artistry of this poem
Will cause all to listen and then agree
Ivyevelyn writes such wonderous verse
Surely she must be placed first.

Wake up and read her subtle words
Who said that - "it's for the birds"
You, sir, need to listen to her voice
There;s time to listen, then rejoice.

Poetess Supreme

She has stepped forward for herself
No she won't be put on the shelf
Her poetry will ring and assail your ears
Her work will be heralded for many years.

Please continue on with your poetic work
Ivyevelyn will always cheer
But remember when she lays down her pen
Your work will be observed but not 'til then.

My ode to myself might not be taken well
After all you might realize in time
We must put ourselves in first place
Don't allow others to win the race.

Ivyevelyn duly Crowned

Her poems will linger in your mind
If you are lucky you'll get a copy signed
Don't come forward with your humble verse
Wait and listen to hear Ivyevelyn first.

Ivyevelyn does not need accolades
She writes her own and gives due value
To a lady of exceptional worth
Her poems will be famous on this earth.

Take a step back and accept with grace
That Ivyevelyn is in first place.
Don't ever think that I should refrain
And allow another to take her reign.

Ivyevelyn Enthroned

Now i sit regally on my throne
I challenge any of you poets
To deny me my rightful entry
Here I am, Queen of Poetry.

Ivy, dear, this has not appeared on my inbox yet, and I'll come to your rescue. Those who will try to slap you down and off your throne, OVER MY DEAD BODY!!!

You could now rest assured, Your Majesty, the Queen Ivyevelyn, that you are safe from pretenders to the throne.

Bow, Buzz.

Oh dear Ivy- poetry is of the heart - sung from the soul...your poetry is indeed grand and truly wonderful...but no one needs to rule...it is in the freeing of verse- that is where the beauty shines- in the eyes of the reader, each one feeling or thinking something beautiful in their own thoughts- the reader creates the purest of art and wears the crown...let it not be a competition- but a joy for all...hugs my brilliant friend...

Delicia: I wrote this a complete joke. Of course, I don't think this way, but I felt I wanted to make light of all the Ode's going around.. I hoped Wikinutters would find it amusing. Love, Ivyevelyn.

Hoorah, Dee! You read the poem as I meant it. Just making a joke about all the "Ode's" going around. If anyone thinks I am serious, then I will be known as a stuck-up little prig.

Cowboy:
I will take my sword and make you a knight,
I'll try to just tap you on your shoulder
Not miss and strike off your head
And use your body for animal fodder.
Sorry, Sir Cowboy: I couldn't find anything else to rhyme with 'shoulder'.

Thank you Ivy for sharing. Your writing instrument is never blunt, sharp as a razor when need be, yet never scathing in any way, as you eloquently explained, that some of the odes of late are starting to cause a bitof an Ode..our. Ha,ha,ha. :-)) X

Tranquilpen: I appreciate your interpretation. Ode..ours are definitely getting a little strong. I have, however, resolved it all by taking up my highly-deserved place as the Queen of Poetry.

I immensely enjoyed this poem. Sometimes poets feel as you felt, and such spirit makes them more creative and productive.

The message you gave must echo from the hearts of every writer:

"We must put ourselves in first place
Don't allow others to win the race."

Everyone is unique in their own creation and the confidence in themselves make them think great and write well.

Dear Rathnashikamani: You have a loving and generous nature. I wrote the poem as a spoof. I am just an ordinary little person, in my little corner. Could you really care about the Ivyevelyn in the poem? I think she is a ridiculous, egotistical brat!

Thank you, Funom. I hope you don't think I'm over-rating myself?
A poet I am of some repute,
Recognized by myself as Queen Evelyn,
No, I will not give this crown up
I bought it fair and square in a second-hand shop.

May I de-throne and pass the crown to you.
Thank you, Songbird. The crown was too heavy anyway..

These four lines actually said it all, if one could take a look with a magnifying view, it would come out automatically what you are dived in about and what riches you have found under the sea !

Dear Rezaul: Reading your message, I don't think you would feel any less of me if I abdicated. History Note: " King Edward VIII abdicated the British throne and married Mrs. Wallis Simpson (U.S. CIitizen) on June 3rd, 1937. I know just how he must have felt!

Denise: I followed you over to Facebook today but missed you. You had already written on the wall. I wrote a message for Sweet Tee to have a happy birthday and then I fled.
Actually, Denise, the damn crown messes up my hair and it so bejeweled that it is too heavy. I am willing to offer it to you for 50c, give or take a few pennies. I think, out of us all, it should be yours.
Love & Hugs, Ivyevelyn,
