The life of a long distance trucker,Sounds romantic getting to all these places and meeting the local girls,But thats only a myth,All you see is tarmacadam for mile after mile.
Keep on Trucking.
The life of a trucker is crazy no doubt.
But then its no job for the sane.
Up at all hours and out on the road.
And tying up big loads in the rain.
All day long you trundle along.
With the old radio tinkling away.
For mile after mile you rock side to side.
And bounce up and down on your chair.
At last you can see a stop up ahead.
With a big sign saying BIG MAS CAFE.
You park up the rig and walk to the bar.
And ask them for something to eat.
A wrinkled old one whose at least 91.
Comes over to see what you'll eat.
A big steak and eggs French fries and Brown bread.
Washed down with a gallon of beer.
Then back on the road after checking your load.
You will drive all night long at your ease.
In the grey morning light the end is in sight.
At last you can rest and get sleep.
You don't have to be crazy to be a trucker.
But it helps i can tell you.lol.

A great and insightful read, which looks past the romanticism of the job as portrayed in movies like Smokey And The Bandit, immortalized by actor Burt Reynolds etc.
